How to replace the AirTag battery?

- The first step to take is to place the AirTag on your palm facing downwards.
- Gently press down on the metal back with two fingers counterclockwise.
- When the back has been released, put the part on the side.
- After that, remove the old battery and replace it with a new battery (make sure the + sign is facing up).
- Once the battery is installed, replace the battery cover by aligning the three tabs on the cover to the three AirTag holes.
- Place two fingers and rotate clockwise until the cover snaps into place (turn until it clicks).
If you have successfully replaced the battery, the AirTag will sound, indicating that the battery is properly installed. After making the switch you will usually be asked to reconnect the AirTag with the iPhone.
